The Z400 is still a residential/prosumer machine rather than a full commercial unit, but its heavier construction handles occasional multi-property or larger-acreage mowing better than an entry-level zero-turn. For daily commercial use, the Z700 is the better fit.
No, the Z400 series is gas-powered only. Kubota's diesel zero-turns (the ZD series) are aimed at commercial and fleet use, where the daily run hours justify the extra upfront cost of a diesel engine.
