For a rural home, a long driveway, or a smaller hobby farm up to about 25 acres, I match one machine to how you actually use the place — the mowing, the winter driveway, and the loader and yard work — so you buy the right size once.
It comes down to whether you need a loader, what goes on the back, and how much the cab matters.
New or used — ask what's on the ground.
For the driveway, the BX and LX take a snowblower front or rear — you're not locked to one. The BX2380 and LX2620 are the two I set up for property snow. Want one machine for turf and snow — mow in summer, blow in winter, all-wheel drive in all weather? That's the GR.
Commercial lots, or a laneway route across several properties? That's /snow (L70, MX, R40, SVL).
On the BX and LX I set up grapples, tillers, rear blades, box blades, forks, cutters, belly mowers and blowers — Land Pride (Kubota's implement line) and the matching Kubota attachments. Grading a driveway, cleaning up trails, moving brush, forking a pallet off the trailer — I size the implement to the tractor so it actually does the job.

Most property questions come down to three things: do you need a loader, what goes on the back, and how the driveway handles winter. If you just want to cut grass and blow snow with one machine and you're not doing loader work, the GR does both — all-wheel drive, turf and snow, one unit. The BX is the starter tractor for rural properties: trails, rear tools, a loader; we can add a cab, but it isn't factory. When winters are harsh and you want a factory cab, more lift and more on the back, you move up to the LX2620. Mowing a larger property and nothing else? Not required. The BX runs open station; we can add a cab, but it isn't factory. Move up to the LX2620 when you want a factory cab with heat, A/C and radio for harsh winters, and more lift and rear-implement capacity.
Honest answer — mowers are personal; folks can have six opinions on two machines. For a larger property a lot of people land on the Z400: capable, comfortable, Kubota-backed warranty and flexible financing. Want one machine that mows and does loader and yard work too? A belly mower on a BX or LX. Come cut with a couple and pick the one that feels right.
Acres matter less than the job. What are you lifting, and what are you doing with it — cutting trails, mowing fields, lifting bales? Tell me the work and I'll size to it. As a rough guide this page covers up to about 25 acres; bigger than that, or livestock, and we're into farm-tractor territory — ask me either way.
Three questions. Gas or diesel — the RTV520 is gas and lighter; the RTV-X2 is diesel with more power and payload. Manual or hydraulic dump — the RTV-X2 gives you the hydraulic dump; the 520 is a manual tip. And what are you towing and hauling — bigger loads and a heated cab point to the RTV-X2; fitting where the full-size won't, and onto the trailer you already own, points to the 520.
